General Information  |  Sponsors  |  Participating Sororities  |  Results The Delta Tau Chapter of Phi Kappa Tau is proud to present its annual philanthropic event: The Red & Gold Classic Volleyball Tournament! FORMAT: The tournament is open to all sororities in the Southern California area, and is generally comprised of 8 to 16 teams, each with 10 members. Teams will compete in a double-elimination tournament until only one team remains standing. That team will be the "Red & Gold Classic Champion". TEAM COST: The entry fee per team is $150 (early admission), or $175 for registration within 1 month of the tournament. Each team will consist of 10 players. That cost includes a T-Shirt for each team member, as well as helping to cover the facilities costs that will be incurred due to the event. GENERAL ADMISSION: On the day of the event, the general public is invited to attend. Admission will be a donation of $2.00 for adults. Children will be admitted for free. PRIZE: In addition to winning the tournament title, the winning sorority will also receive a percentage of the tournament proceeds in the form of a donation to their own National Philanthropy. PROCEEDS: Proceeds from the registration fees, and from concessions and other items, will go directly to the Hole in the Wall Gang Camps, a non-profit organization that runs summer camps for children with terminal diseases. A portion of the procedes will be donated to the National Philanthropy of the winning sorority as well. The Hole in the Wall Gang Camps were originally founded by actor Paul Newman (A Phi Tau alumnus) and were adopted as the National Philanthropy of Phi Kappa Tau in the mid 1990's. The event would not have been such a success without the enthusiasm of the participating sororities, the hard work of the brothers of Delta Tau, our amazingly generous sponsors, and all those who came out to support this wonderful cause. WINNING TEAM: Independents AMOUNT RAISED: Approximately $3,400 (A majority of the proceeds went to the Hole in the Wall Gang Camps; while a percentage was also sent as a donation to the National Philanthropy of the winning team.)
